Maintenance method of butterfly brake

01 inspection for brake system

1.1The following items are checked at least once every three months on the working state of the brake system.

1.2Brake action stroke: check the gap between the static and dynamic iron core, when the gap exceeds 0.4mm, should be adjusted (method refers to brake action stroke adjustment)

1.3Brake action noise: check brake action noise, when it is more than 65dB, need adjust (refer to brake noise adjustment).

1.4Manual brake release check to verify that the brake can be properly opened (method refers to manual brake release adjustment)

1.5Adjustment of the brake microswitch: when the brake is operated, the signal of the inching switch can not be detected, and it needs to be adjusted (method refers to the adjustment of the microswitch).

1.6When the friction plate is worn over 1mm, it needs to be replaced

1.7Braking force check: when the traction machine is no-load or full load, the braking power has no slippage (observe 2-3min). If there is a slippage phenomenon, it is necessary to check and confirm the reason.

1.8Brake system bolts, nuts, lock and confirm.

02brake system adjustment

Before brake system is adjusted, the elevator traffic is opened to the upper terminus station (no-load), and will put counter-weight on the buffer (no load), otherwise possible slipped car accident happened. The maintenance of the brake system requires professional personnel to operate.

The required tools: inner six angle wrench (one set), wrench (7mm, 13mm, 24mm, 30mm), slotted screwdriver, crossed screwdriver, feeler, dial gauge, clean cloth.

1.1 Brake action stroke adjustment

a) Check movable and static iron core gap A in one place (0.33mm-0.35mm) with a feeler gauge.  (0.33mm goes through and 0.36mm feeler doed not go through the feeler,) (such as detection point diagram), if it does not meet the requirements, loosen the nut II of the adjusting bolt, Trim bolt (It was too big, clockwise to tighten the bolt I; too small, counter clockwise to loosen the bolt I), make movable and static disc space to meet the requirements, lock nut II (if adjusting diagram)

b)Check movable and static iron core gap A in two places (0.33mm-0.35mm) with a feeler gauge.  (0.33mm goes through and 0.36mm does not go through the feeler,) (such as detection point diagram), if it does not meet the requirements, loosen the nut  of the adjusting bolt, Trim bolt (if it was too big, clockwise to tighten the bolt ; too small, counter clockwise to loosen the bolt ), make movable and static disc space to meet the requirements, lock nut  (if adjusting diagram)

c)Check with the feeler movable and static disc gap, repeatedly adjusted to meet the requirements, and ensure gap evenly.

d)With the feeler check point 3, point 4 and movable and static disc gap deviation is≤0.1mm.

1.2 manual brake release adjustment

a) Push the handle, check the handle to swing to the left and right, free stroke is 18-28mm, if it does not meet the requirements, loosen the screws M5X10 and washers 5; unscrew the nut M10 (two pieces are on the outside) and washer 10, and then remove the adjustment lever and a reset spring; adjusting nut M10 (close to handle) (too big, screw clockwise the nut M10,if it is too small), loosen the nut M10 counterclockwise, meet handle to swing to the left and right and free stroke requirements.

b) Install a reset spring and adjusting lever, with nut M10 coated Kesai new 1243 thread glue together with washer 10 fix adjustable lever on a push rod, coat Kesai new 1243 thread glue in the screw hole corresponding M5X10 screws. Fix adjustable level with nut M5X20 together with washer 5. Lock closely nut M10 coating with 1243 threaded glue.

1.3 brake noise adjustment

a) Unscrew the nut M6 with a wrench (10mm) and tighten the bolt M6 clockwise with an inner six angle wrench (3mm). The angle is approximately 60 degrees.

b) Adjust other three bolts with same method.

c) Check again brake running noise, if it does not meet the demand, repeat above procedure.

d) Ensure brake starting voltage is not more than 80% of rated voltage.

e) Lock closely nut M6 with wrench,use red paint to seal between nut and bolt.

1.4 adjustment for brake miro switch

a)Unscrew and lock nut M4 and bolt M4X50 with a wrench (7mm).

b) Apply the proper amount of Letai 271 on the bolt.

c) With a wrench (7mm), adjust the bolt M4X50 very slowly, and stop when you hear the sound of the switch action.

d) Adjust the bolt M4 counterclockwise, about 90 degrees from the angle.

e) Fix the bolt M4X50 with a wrench (7mm) and use another wrench (7mm) to lock the nut M4.

f) Confirm the clearance of micro switch with the feeler, put feeler betweem the micro switch and bolt M4X50, when placed into 0.1mm feeler, micro switch does not move; when placed in the 0.15mm feeler, micro switch operated. In the testing process, must maintain the vertical state of the feeler. If you can not meet the requirements, proceed to the above steps debugging.

1.5 Wear check of brake friction plate

Wear volumn of brake friction plate must be controlled in less than 1mm, with the 1mm feeler  check distance as shown in the "A1", "A2" and "B" distance, feeler must ensure to access in to the three gaps, otherwise, need replace the friction plate or the brake.
